Meet Tina Bruce
Tina Bruce is an author, intuitive mentor, rebirthing breathwork therapist, yoga & meditation teacher and spinal energetics practitioner.
Tina's expertise in trauma-informed modalities along with her own experience of birth trauma, burnout, shingles and the development of an opioid addiction to manage the subsequent chronic pain condition motivates her to create compassionate and supportive spaces for her clients. When you receive her stories and teachings, it is often described as 'speaking directly to your soul'.
Tina is the co-founder of Soul Wander Retreats and facilitates programs locally and internationally with integrity and cultural connection. She understands very well the growth challenges and mountains people face daily which is why Soul Wander Retreats has evolved. Tina's purpose is to empower humans to trust their intuition so they can step more confidently on their soul path and reclaim their authentic selves to live a life they love.
Meet Hayley OβRourke
As the Managing Director of Journeys by Design and Co-founder of Soul Wander Retreats, Hayley is your dedicated retreat coordinator. Bringing over two decades of invaluable experience in the travel industry, her journey began 24 years ago, driven by an unwavering passion for cultivating enduring and meaningful relationships with her clients. With a steadfast commitment to excellence, Hayley ensures that every travel experience she orchestrates is infused with unforgettable moments and cherished memoriesβthe very essence of what travel is all about.
Hayley's passion for wellness travel was sparked unexpectedly during a spontaneous visit to COMO Shambhala in Baliβan experience that illuminated the profound transformative power of retreats. In 2018, fate intervened once more when she crossed paths with Tina, leading to the creation of our inaugural wellness retreat.
This retreat holds a special place in Hayley's heart, drawing from her profound connection with Africa. Having journeyed through South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, and Kenya on multiple occasions, each adventure deepened her love affair with this mesmerising continent. Day 1 ~ 11th Sep 2025 ~ Welcome to Tanzania - Gateway to Your African Adventure
Touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your unforgettable journey begins. After clearing customs and immigration, youβll be warmly greeted by our expert representatives. Relax as you are escorted on a scenic transfer to your hotel in Arusha.
Tanzania is a land of extraordinary diversity, offering everything from iconic wildlife experiences to rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes.

Day 2 ~ 12th Sep 2025 ~ Trekking the Slopes of Kilimanjaro - An Adventurous Day Hike
After breakfast, embark on a thrilling hike up Mount Kilimanjaro. Begin at Marangu Gate, trekking through the lush rainforest from 1,800 meters (6,000 feet) to Mandara Hut at 2,740 meters (9,000 feet). Along the way, enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by nature.
At Mandara Hut, take in the views, with an optional short hike to Maundi Crater for panoramic vistas of Kenya and Northern Tanzania. Begin your descent in the afternoon and return to your hotel in Arusha by 7:30 PM for a well-deserved evening of relaxation. B,L
Days 3 ~ 13th Sep 2025 ~ Lake Manyara - Wildlife & Cultural Encounters
After an early breakfast, your expert guide will transfer you on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. En route, enjoy a guided walk through the vibrant Mto wa Mbu Village, offering an authentic glimpse into local life.
Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its lush, forest-like environment and abundant birdlife, is a haven of natural beauty. Nestled in the Great Rift Valley, the parkβs landscape is defined by its unique water-fed trees and the shimmering Lake Manyara, covering around 390 square kilometers.

Day 5 ~ 15th Sep 2025 ~ Road Safari: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro
Our local driver/guide will meet us this morning for a scenic road journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate. The drive, approximately 1.5 hours, will include a delightful stop at Gibbs Farm. Here, youβll embark on a guided hike to the Elephant Caves and a serene Waterfall Walk. After a leisurely lunch at Gibbs Farm, continue your journey to your lodge in Ngorongoro.

Day 6 ~ 16th Sep 2025 ~ Ngorongoro Crater
Today, set out for an unforgettable full-day game drive in the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as Africaβs Eden. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a vast caldera teeming with wildlife, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, and a variety of antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the craterβs stunning landscapes, where the panoramic views are as spectacular as the wildlife.
On your return to the lodge, youβll visit a traditional Maasai Village. The Maasai are renowned for their vibrant culture and rich traditions. This visit offers a unique opportunity to learn about their way of life, including their distinctive beadwork, traditional dances, and age-old customs. B,L,D
Day 7 ~ 17th - 18th Sep 2025 ~ Serengeti National Park
Today, your African Travel Specialists driver/guide will meet you for a scenic road journey to Serengeti National Park, traveling in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. The drive, approximately 6-7 hours, offers breathtaking views of the Tanzanian landscape. Arrive in time for an exciting afternoon game drive in the Serengeti, renowned for its vast plains and abundant wildlife.

Day 8-9 ~ 18th - 19th Sep 2025 ~ Serengeti National Park

From your base at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, enjoy thrilling morning and afternoon game drives exploring the parkβs diverse habitats. Day 10 ~ 20th Sep 2025 ~ Fly to Arusha & Farewell
On your final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the Lodge. You will then be met by your driver for a transfer to the Seronera Airstrip. Board a light aircraft with Auric Air for your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. (Note: The total baggage allowance is 20 kg per passenger, covering all personal items including hand baggage and filming equipment.) Depending on your flight schedule, you may have the opportunity for a final game drive before your departure. Your unforgettable Serengeti adventure concludes as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey. B

This is an authentic cultural travel experience
β’Accommodation is in a combination of hotels and authentic African style lodges, all rooms with have ensuites, some may have a combination of indoor and outdoor showers with hot water.
β’ Some will be permanent tented camps with canvas walls and outdoor showers.
β’ All are western style beds, many with thatched roof and mosquito nets.
β’ The roads in Africa can be very rough and are not recommended for anyone with severe back issues.
VISA REQUIREMENTS - A visa is required to travel to Tanzania and we recommend that this is obtained prior to arrival. An online application should be made at least 2-3 weeks in advance of travel.
